About Terri Flippen:

Calming Body Effects Co-Owner, Yoga Alliance Member
“When I embraced a desire for a career in wellness, God showed me the way.”
I began my interest in yoga for health and wellness in 2006 after my husband Greg expressed a desire to teach yoga. At the time, all I knew about yoga was how to spell it!
Greg gave me a yoga video to try and I was surprised at how what a wonderful personal challenge the workout was. As someone who had been exercising since age 15, this was new and invigorating for me.
On the last day possible to register for yoga teacher training, God spoke to me and said:
Are you really going to let Greg do this without you? You need to do this with him.
So of course I did. Becoming a yoga teacher changed my life completely in a way I never expected. My professional career had, up until that point, been in accounting, managerial, and sales roles. I never imagined I would ever be practicing yoga –much less opening a yoga studio.
The lesson I learned from this experience is this: When you ask Jesus to take control of your life, your life changes in ways, that before Jesus, you never imagined.
A Little Bit about Me
I have done all kinds of exercise in my life, and can truly say that yoga has impacted my mental outlook and physical abilities more than anything else.
About Greg Flippen:
Calming Body Effects Co-Owner, Yoga Alliance Member
“People need to take ownership over their health and learn how to manage their overall health to avoid spending as much on skyrocketing health care costs.”
My path to teaching yoga began after taking a yoga class and finding it to be one of the tougher workouts that I had experienced. I had been regularly working out at the gym with weights for two to three hours a day, five to six days a week, so once I was challenged by that yoga class, I decided this health practice was something I needed to learn more about.
After my wife, Terri, and I obtained our certification as Christian Yoga instructors in 2006, we began discussing opening our own yoga and wellness studio.
My professional expertise as a certified project manager and over 25 years in the Information Technology field prepared me for the rigor involved in opening the Calming Body Effects wellness studio.
I feel blessed that I can help share how beneficial yoga and massage are for health and that my company can provide an avenue to share the Christian Yoga experience with others.
A Little Bit about Me
I enjoy working in my garage fixing or building pretty much anything. I’ve built three tables, a waterbed, and workbenches. I also like growing fruits and veggies in our home garden.
